I am Katharine Murta Adams, but you can call me Katy.

I am a story-telling Visual Alchemist that uses design, illustration, and motion to elevate brand, engage your audience, and bring tangible value to your business.

And I am a Mother of Doggies.

I love the magic of blending the technical with the creative.

I draw on my iPad with Procreate and design with Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Figma, and various other software. I tell narrative stories with AfterEffects and Premier. I implement SAFe Agile principles, fool around with code, and remain a creative rebel.

I love learning. And storytelling.

Born and raised in New England, I moved to the West Coast to pursue a dream of being an artist. I arrived in San Francisco (my favorite city!) and eventually moved to Los Angeles to attend ArtCenter College of Design.

After graduation, I started off my career in the kids' genre, working as an illustrator and digital artist for The Walt Disney Company, Knowledge Kids Network, and Lakeshore Learning.

Eventually, I moved into marketing design at Farmers Insurance and acquired extra skills along the way.

As a Senior Designer, I possess deep experience in content engagement strategies to drive successful brand awareness and top-of-the-funnel customer journey mapping via various platforms, using Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Canva, Procreate, and other software.

I am also passionate about understanding users’ needs and leveraging design thinking principles to craft meaningful and innovative digital experiences.

I am certified in the Google UX Design Certificate Program (2022). I am also certified in SAFe as a Leading Agilist (2020) and as a POPM (2023).

I also passed the CBEST (California Basic Educational Skills Test) in 2025 for teaching.
